Association of Filipinos in Footwear Industries (FFI) was formally launched in November 2004 with the following mission and vision.

To serve as the unifying force among all Filipinos in the footwear industries outside and inside of the Philippines regardless of specialization so that we can maintain our competitive advantage in the international arena and sustain this in the next generation of Filipinos to come.

Primarily it is to try and help members develop themselves. The idea was conceived after a series of informal meetings with different groups in the different brands. Spearheaded by Ms. Juliet Bautista, the first official gathering was held in China on November 2004. Subsequently, other meetings were held in the different countries where there is a sizeable number of Filipinos working in the Footwear Industry – Vietnam , Indonesia and Philippines.

After 3 months of communicating with the different chapters, a grand meeting was held in Marikina ( the shoe capital of the Philippines ) on February 2005 and the occasion was graced by the Honorable Mayor of Marikina – Marides Fernando.
